Inside Line Promotions – WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (Oct. 4, 2018) – Seth Bergman hit the double-digit win mark on Sunday when he claimed the 360 Fall Haul at 34 Raceway.
The Sprint Invaders triumph was his 10th victory of the season and it marked the third time since 2014 he’s scored at least 10 trips to Victory Lane.
“We run a lot of races throughout the year and expect to win,” he said. “I’ve won double-digit races before. The next step is I want to hit 20 wins. We’ve never had 20 wins in a season so that would be the next goal.”
Bergman kicked off the doubleheader on Friday by finishing where he started – second – in a heat race. He then advanced from eighth to fifth place in the dash before gaining a position in the A Main to finish fourth during his debut at the track.
“The track was pretty heavy so it was a little tough to pass,” he said. “We weren’t as good as we needed to be. As the race went on I got better and late in the race I got a couple of cars to finish fourth. The track had a few unique things you had to be there to experience. We took some of the things we learned and applied them Sunday.”
Weather postponed the 360 Fall Haul finale from Saturday to Sunday, but Bergman was ready to pounce on the 34-lap, $3,400-to-win feature. He placed second in a heat race after starting fifth and finished second in the dash before lining up on the pole for the main event.
“We had a favorable starting position and we capitalized,” he said. “We got a good start and then pulled away. Traffic came into play pretty early, but I think we maneuvered through it well. That’s probably as good as we’ve been in a while. We’ve been working on finding that speed.”
The 10th win is tied for the second-most triumphs in a season for Bergman, who also accomplished the feat in 2014. His season high is 13 victories, which he earned in 2015.
Bergman is scheduled to compete this Friday and Saturday at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Ark., during the 31st annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals with the ASCS Mid-South Region.
