Inside Line Promotions – OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 14, 2019) – Seth Bergman posted a pair of top-10 finishes during a season-opening doubleheader last weekend at Bubba Raceway Park.

Bergman, who is coming off one of the best seasons of his career, kicked off the 2019 campaign by recording an eighth-place result on Friday before finishing seventh on Saturday.

“It was good to start the season with a pair of top 10s, but our goal is to put ourselves in contention to win races on a nightly basis,” he said. “We’ll take what we learned and apply it so the next time we compete at Bubba Raceway Park hopefully we’ll be able to race up front.”

The action began on Friday when Bergman maneuvered from fifth to fourth place in a heat race and from fourth to third place in a B Main to garner a transfer into the back of the main event. He capped the night by charging from 20th to eighth, which was the second-most cars passed in the race.

“It was difficult to make passes early in the night so that buried us in a B Main and then the A Main,” he said. “We progressed throughout the night and made up a lot of ground in the main event when the track was a bit wider.”

The weekend concluded on Saturday with Bergman winning a heat race after starting second. He then ended seventh after starting in the same position in the main event.

“The night started off a lot better, but the track took some rubber on the bottom in the feature so passing was at a premium,” he said. “We did the best we could without putting ourselves in a bad position.”

Bergman will return to competition this Thursday through Saturday at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., during the Ronald Laney Memorial King of the 360s.
